Harvest CROPS Harvesting Program

Have more fruit than you can handle?

The Meals4Hunger Harvest CROPS program offers residential fruit and nut tree harvesting from backyards and small orchards throughout San Diego County.

If you own or know of one or many fruit and/or nut trees and have more fruit and/or nut trees than you and your neighbors or your friends can use, let us help you. We will send out a team of dedicated volunteers to clean up the dropped fruits/nuts and harvest the remaining on the tree. We then donate the fruits/nuts to a network of Meals4Hunger programs to share good food with those who need it most.

We are working to create a database of residential fruit trees that will be available for harvest throughout the course of the year, yielding fruit such as apples, pears, plums, persimmons, oranges, nectarines, apricots, figs, pecans, walnuts and other varieties. As we locate more trees and recruit more volunteers we hope to strengthen the support offered to property owners and residents to preserve and maintain their trees as a valuable food resource.
